Mpow Flame Bluetooth Headphones Quick Review

Before we dig deeper to the detailed review we have prepared, here are the things that we like and we do not like about Mpow Flame Bluetooth Headphones.

What we Like

  • The two-toned red and metallic logo looks fantastic.
  • The Mpow Flame headphones are IPX7 waterproof, which means they can withstand being submerged in water for up to 1 meter. They also have an 8-hour battery life. This means they can endure for a week of workouts or nearly an entire day of trekking.
  • Similar to various brands of headphones such as HOPDAY, SoundPEATS, TREBLAB, Tenergy, TaoTronics, and iblast
  • The sound quality is excellent for the price of $20. The highs and mids came out incredibly clear and crisp for me. The bass was noticeable, but it wasn't the greatest I'd heard through earphones.
  • It is quite pleasant to wear. They come with a variety of ear tips in various sizes. The ear hooks were soft and rubberized in my opinion.
  • Includes a very high quality case with a fantastic looking Mpow logo, an accessories pouch, and appears to be quite stiff and protective.

What we Don't Like

  • They stick out rather far, which could be an issue if you're wearing something that conceals your ears, like as a beanie.
  • During my testing, I noticed some skipping in my music. This improved after I rebooted the Mpow Flames.

Sound Quality

We can be overly critical of sound quality at times. We wouldn't go so far as to call ourselves audiophiles or sound snobs (they might be mutually exclusive), but we do become annoyed quickly if the sound quality is not good when used in the gym.

The Mpow Flame buds give powerful bass, snappy highs, and rich mids because of a tuned driver, CSR chip, and Bluetooth 4.1 technology. The Mpow Flame Bluetooth headphones have 11 mm dynamic music drivers that produce an excellent sound. This, combined with the stereo sound effect, results in an incredibly high-quality audio experience.

Bluetooth Connectivity

The Mpow Flames are Bluetooth 4.1 compliant, so they will connect to the majority of your wireless devices or bluetooth device. One thing to bear in mind is that they will not be entirely compatible with your Internet of things devices, the majority of which feature Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. This does not mean you won't be able to use the headphones for a lot devices at all, but it does mean the connection will be less secure, which is critical when working with your home's infrastructure.

The Flame headphones have a Bluetooth range of about 10 m (33 ft). Because many of you will be using these mostly at the gym, Bluetooth range should not be an issue. We only had connection problems when we were on the absolute edge of the 33-foot range or were separated by a storey.

Waterproof Rating IPX7

There is no need to be concerned about sweat damage to the Mpow Flame due to its IPX7 waterproof rating. In fact, the earphones are waterproof to 1m for up to 30 minutes. While the Mpow Flame would not be suitable for swim training, they could be used in the pool, hot tub, or sauna without risk of damage. Furthermore, if you sweat a lot during your workout, you can rinse the Mpow Flame under water afterward without worrying about hurting the earbuds.

Mpow has been kind enough to include two types of ear tips: regular generic silicon buds in three sizes and a single pair of memory foam ear tips. The silicon tips are available in three sizes: small, medium, and large, while the memory foam times are one size fits all. The earbuds provide a universal fit, allowing you to utilize your favourite ear tips. Silicon tips are ideal for exercising because they do not absorb sweat or moisture, whereas memory foam tips are ideal for traveling since they provide the finest noise isolation.

Fit and comfort

We wanted to evaluate the Flame's comfort level because, even if the sound quality is incredible, we won't be able to take the agony for long if the headphones don't fit properly. The ear loops are made of silicone, which, while rough due to the absence of cushioning, does not irritate the ears or feel like they are digging into our skulls. We have sensitive ears and avoid earbuds with rigid ear loops, yet the ergonomically curved design of the ear loops suit our ears perfectly.

The Flame includes three sizes of normal, rubbery ear tips: small, medium, and large. A single pair of memory foam ear tips was also supplied. If you want a tight fit, the foam tips are fantastic. We discovered that a snug earbud fit not only keeps the earbuds from sliding off your head, but it also helps provide superior audio quality.

When earbuds form a seal, bass levels are contained, resulting in a deep bass sound that you can feel in your brain. We found both types of ear tips to be quite comfortable, but we preferred the memory foam tips since we like the closed-off seal they provide.

Battery Life

Mpow says that the Flame earbuds have an active listening time of 7 to 9 hours. Listening to them at higher volumes, like any other set of wireless headphones, can have a substantial impact on their lifespan. When we're working out, we usually listen to music at approximately 75% volume, unless there's some jerk making too much noise, in which case we turn it up a notch.

The Flame headphones lasted about 8 hours at 75 percent loudness, which is perfectly on track with Mpow's estimates. We're just going to use the Flame buds for working out, so one charge should last us about a year. The Flames only take about an hour and a half to fully charge, so an overnight charge will charge them approximately four times.

Conclusion

If you're searching for a pair of earbud headphones that can be used for working out as well as listening to music and taking calls on the go, the Mpow Flame is a great option.

The audio quality is excellent for exercising, traveling, and even making or receiving phone conversations. With an IPX7 rating, you don't have to worry about sweat hurting the Mpow Flame, and it can be used in water up to 1m deep. The Mpow Flame comes with a small carry case that is ideal for storing in your workout bag or even carrying in your pocket when traveling. The Mpow Flame provides fantastic value and superb sound quality for $20.
