How We Choose Our Picks (Editorial Policy)

Every recommendation on Electric Fields Festival follows the same rules. This page exists so you can hold us to them.

The rules

  1. No paid placements. Brands cannot pay for a ranking, a review score, or a place in a guide. Review units, where they exist, never come with coverage conditions.
  2. Picks are comparative. A product earns its place against the current alternatives at its price — not against the model it replaced. When a new model makes a pick obsolete, the pick changes.
  3. Sources are named. Our guides are built from manufacturer specifications, independent lab measurements and expert testing published by outlets we name in the article, and long-term owner reports. Where a claim comes from a source, the article links or names it.
  4. Prices are checked, and dated. Prices in this category move weekly. Main guides carry the date prices were last checked; a price on the page is a guide, not a promise.
  5. Fixes are written to be followed. Troubleshooting guides are ordered from the most common, cheapest fix to the least — and they tell you when the honest answer is “this one is broken, here’s the replacement we’d buy.”
  6. Corrections are public. If we get something wrong, we correct the page. Substantive corrections are noted on the page itself.

How we make money

Electric Fields Festival earns revenue from advertising and from affiliate commissions when readers buy through links on the site (see our Affiliate Disclosure page). Affiliate relationships never determine rankings: the commission rate on a product is not a factor in whether or where it appears.
