So this is the last big weekend of the summer.
Or maybe the first big weekend of the Autumn? Either way, we couldn’t think of better company to spend it in than the mercurial pairing of Malcolm Middleton and Aidan Moffatt. Finding a new place within the world after returning to the live stage last year for their first shows since their 2006 departure, Arab Strap feel perhaps even more endearing and compelling with the passing of time than they did at the height of their powers.
Releasing six albums between their 1996 debut and 2005 farewell, the band still stand as one of Scotland’s most influential bands; Moffatt’s signature, wry Glasgow drawl the perfect foil for Middleton’s always inventive arrangements.
Simply put: A show not to be missed.
